MINUTES OF LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

HELD AT THE TOWN OF MERRILL COMMUNITY CENTER

APRIL 7, 2011

Meeting called to order at 9:00 A.M. by Town Chairman Bill Burgener..

Present:  Chairman Burgener, Town Supervisor Voigt & Matushak and Harry Tubbin.

Also present: Stacy Pettit, Rod Akey, Terry Sukow and Rodney Gutenberger.

Rod reported Jeff will be installing the rest of the door stops.  Nothing has been concluded with Menard’s regarding the grout.

Blacktopping of parking lot was discussed.  Handicap parking will be moved West, rather than in front of the carport due to ground slope.  There will be four stalls.  Rod will place requests for blacktopping bids in the papers, for opening at the May 9, 2011 Board Meeting, along with painting of the parking places.  Blacktop to run 500 ft. past the driveway to the West.   Blacktopping to be completed by July 1, 2011.

Fencing also has to be placed around the air exchange unit on the West side of the building.

No decision made as to payment to Trident for cleaning floors to enable holding the “Open House”.

Harry reported Schield’s appraisal of the old town hall is around $30,000.00, however we have no confirmation of this.  Approval to dispose of the property is a decision made by the electors, which will be brought up at the Annual Meeting being held April 12, 2011.

Next meeting to be held Thursday, May 5, 2011, 9:00 A.M.   Attracting businesses to the “Business Park” will now be the main concern of the committee.

Meeting adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
